I walked RIGHT Into their TRAP: My Centrum Air Flight!

After taking the world’s last scheduled flight on a Russian-manufactured plane, it was time to continue my aviation journey through Central Asia. Central Asia—and Uzbekistan in particular—is one of my absolute favorite regions on the planet. The food, the landscapes, and especially the hospitality of the people are completely second to none.

Today, I was headed from Tashkent to Delhi, India. While Uzbekistan’s aviation scene is dominated by Uzbekistan Airways and Qanot Sharq, I booked myself on a relatively new carrier founded in 2023 that I’d never tried before: Centrum Air. Their slogan is “Fly Simple,” which had me genuinely excited to see what they were all about.

There was just one catch: I had never flown them, but it turned out they had definitely heard of me.

I arrived early at Tashkent International Airport. Leaving from the international terminal—which now features a bright, modern new entrance area—was a world away from the old Soviet-style layout I remember from my first visit back in 2018.

The check-in process for flight C6 252 to Delhi was a bit on the slower side, but the staff behind the counter were incredibly warm and welcoming. After grabbing a quick morning coffee and admiring how much this airport has evolved over the years, it was time to head to the gate.

My aircraft for today was a 10-year-old Airbus A321neo (originally delivered to Novaair in Sweden) configured with 221 seats in an all-economy layout. Centrum Air operates an all-Airbus fleet of 16 planes, including widebody A330s connecting Uzbekistan to over 50 destinations worldwide.

As soon as I stepped onto the plane, the camera crew and flight attendants greeted me with a massive smile:

“Welcome! You are our VIP passenger today.”

I walked down the aisle to my seat, where a blanket, pillow, slippers, and a hot towel were already neatly set out for me.

Now, if you follow my channel, you know I’m actually a massive introvert. I hate being the center of attention, and I usually prefer to fly completely under the radar so I can give you guys an accurate, unvarnished look at what an everyday passenger experiences. But at the same time, you can’t fault an airline for doing their homework, being proud of their product, and rolling out the red carpet when they realize a reviewer is on board!

Even setting the VIP treatment aside, the hard product itself was impressive:

• Legroom: Surprisingly spacious and very comfortable.
• Power: Equipped with both standard power outlets and USB ports.
• Entertainment: While there are no built-in seatback screens, they offer a personal device streaming system accessible over onboard Wi-Fi.

In-Flight Service & Catering

About 20 minutes after takeoff, meal service began. While standard passengers received sandwiches, I had pre-booked the premium meal package during my online booking.

My starter tray came loaded with fresh bread rolls, sausages, a crisp side salad, cheese, and bottled water. For the main dish, I was served a plate of chicken and rice, which was surprisingly tasty and well-prepared.

Toward the end of the flight, as the crew served hot coffee and a small snack, one of the flight attendants handed me a small feedback booklet to fill out. The warmth and pride the crew took in their jobs were palpable throughout the cabin.

Before we landed, a former US Airways employee onboard stopped to chat with me. He mentioned that my recent review of Uzbekistan Airways—where I raised safety concerns regarding deadheading crew—had actually sparked internal workshops across the airline to improve cabin safety and crew standards. Hearing that is a humbling reminder of why I do this.

Beyond the drama and the travel, this channel exists to give passengers a voice, hold airlines accountable, and make flying safer and better for all of us.

After taking photo ops with the crew and touching down at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi, I reflected on the flight.

Strip away the extra VIP fuss, and Centrum Air is a solid, honest hybrid airline. They get you safely and comfortably from point A to point B at a very reasonable price point, offering modern aircraft and great add-on options like premium meals and streaming entertainment.
