Emirates Inaugural Airbus A350 delays for a Fourth Time
There has been yet another delay to the Emirates A350 service following the already announced delay just last week.
The inaugural A350 flight was previously scheduled to operate from Dubai to Bahrain on 15th September 2024.
This was then delayed due to delivery delays from Airbus which resulted in the inaugural flight to operate from Dubai to Edinburgh on 4th November 2024. It was then delayed further after that to operate on the same route but on 2nd December 2024, which is the UAE’s National Day.
Last week, there was unsurprisingly another delay to the delayed schedule and the inaugural flight was then scheduled for 16th December 2024.
Now, we have an even further delay with AeroRoutes confirming with their post on X that the flight schedule is now moved once again with the inaugural Emirates A350 flight now scheduled for 16th January 2025 on the same route, Dubai to Edinburgh.
This no doubt will cause frustration amongst AvGeeks who have been trying to book flights on the inaugural Emirates A350 route.
For now, Emirates will continue operating the Dubai to Edinburgh route, but will be operating the Boeing-777 from 16th December 2024 to 15th January 2025
What is The New Emirates A350 Schedule?
While further delays are no doubt a possibility, here is the updated schedule of the Emirates A350 that we know of:
Why is the Emirates A350 Being Delayed?
There hasn’t been any direct communication from Emirates, so we are not exactly sure what is the cause of the delays.
Airlines and aircraft manufacturers have still not recovered from the significant delays inflicted by the COVID-19 pandemic so there have been many delays, hence, it’s quite normal recently for inaugural flights to be rescheduled given the number of delays to new aircraft deliveries.
However, given the silence from Emirates officials, it does raise a few questions on whether it is due to aircraft deliveries or due to the airline not having their new aircrafts fitted with their cabins in time.
In either case, fans and enthusiasts will have to stay patient while we wait for official confirmation on when Emirates will actually operate their new A350s without any further delays to the schedule.
