Prime Minister of Montenegro Amplifies Air Montenegro Response to Josh Cahill’s Video

Air Montenegro has publicly responded to Josh Cahill’s recent review of the airline, which highlighted several service failures during his journey, including being downgraded from Business Class to Economy despite holding a valid Business Class ticket.

In a statement published on X, Air Montenegro Chairman of the Board of Directors Tihomir Dragaš issued a formal apology to Josh and acknowledged that the airline had fallen short of its promises regarding passenger service, communication, and professionalism.

The statement specifically addressed the involuntary downgrade, describing it as “utterly unacceptable” that a passenger who had paid for Business Class was moved to Economy without timely and clear communication. Dragaš also admitted that the airline’s refund process was too slow and complicated, while also taking complaints regarding cabin crew conduct and aircraft cleanliness seriously.

As part of the airline’s response, Air Montenegro announced several immediate actions, including:

• Reforming and accelerating its refund procedures
• Conducting an internal audit and additional crew training
• Strengthening hygiene and cleanliness controls across the fleet

The response gained additional attention after Montenegro’s Prime Minister, Milojko Spajić, reposted the Chairman’s statement, bringing national-level visibility to the issues raised in Josh Cahill’s review.

The involvement of Prime Minister Milojko Spajić highlights the significance of the issue at a time when Montenegro is actively pursuing its European Union accession goals and working to strengthen its international reputation, tourism sector, and service standards.

The public acknowledgment and commitment to corrective action represent a rare example of an airline directly addressing concerns raised in an independent aviation review. It remains to be seen how these measures will be implemented in practice, but the statement signals that the airline has taken the feedback seriously.
